The Billerica Girls Softball Association held their 2003 All-Star Games on Saturday, May 24 at the Lampson Field Complex. Light rain was falling off and on before the game but with the forecast of rain all weekend ruining any chance of holding off to the rain date of Monday afternoon the decision was made to play if possible. As the morning progressed the rain got more and more steady but that didn't seem to dampen the enthusiasm of the players or spectators! There was a lot of great pitching, hitting and fielding going on on all fields with some really close games beng played. The fields finally became unplayable and the games were called off but not before every player had a chance to play. The final scores didn't really matter as much as the memories that everyone will have of the Rain Games of 2003.
